Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Victoria Falls

    Met at Victoria Falls International Airport and transferred to your lodge. In the evening, a sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi among hippo, crocodile and river birds.

  2. Day 2

    Victoria Falls National Park

    After breakfast, a guided walk through the rainforest side of the falls — geology, flora, fauna and local legend. Afternoon at leisure, then a Boma dinner and drum show.

  3. Day 3

    Bulawayo

    Drive south to Bulawayo and check in. In the afternoon, a guided visit to the Natural History Museum and Zimbabwe's biodiversity and heritage collections.

  4. Day 4

    Matobo Hills

    A full day in the Matobo Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: San rock art, World's View and Cecil John Rhodes' grave, with an optional walking safari to track rhino. Picnic lunch, then back to Bulawayo for dinner.

  5. Day 5

    Great Zimbabwe

    Drive to Great Zimbabwe and check in. In the afternoon, explore the monuments — the dry-stone walls, the hill complex and the Shona history behind them.

  6. Day 6

    Nyanga

    Travel to Nyanga through the Eastern Highlands and check in at Rupurara Lodge. Afternoon free for hiking, birding or doing nothing at all. Dinner built around local produce.

  7. Day 7

    Nyanga exploration

    Nyangombe Falls in the morning, then World's View for the panorama across the highlands. Lunch at Troutbeck before returning to the lodge.

  8. Day 8

    Marondera and Harare

    Leave Nyanga after breakfast and stop in Marondera for a cultural tea visit with a Zimbabwean family. Continue to Harare for check-in and a farewell dinner.

  9. Day 9

    Departure

    After breakfast, transfer to Harare International Airport for your outbound flight.
